About
Before journalism I was steeped in academia – but the birth of my first child realigned my universe, and I launched a new creative chapter. My response to the perils of infancy was to begin Mother’s Project, a podcast where I interviewed women whose careers evolved and grew in unexpected ways with motherhood.
Since then, I have produced award-winning podcasts for NPR member stations around the country. In my journalism, I seek stories that demand closer scrutiny – ones that, when retold, can generate understand and spark change. Sometimes facts are obscured; sometimes harmful policy decisions masquerade as progress; often, rhetoric distorts the truth. I work to highlight facts, outline real-world effects of policy, and amplify voices so their stories resonate with a wide audience.
When I’m not working, I’m often lost in nature with my kids trying to match their endless curiosity. There’s nothing like quietly observing the harrowing journey of an ant hauling fifty times it’s weight alongside a fascinated four-year-old.
